THE COST OF ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE

In the United States alone, the cost of caring for individuals with dementia or Alzheimers disease is estimated to be more than $100 billion a year. The annual cost of caring for an individual with Alzheimers disease ranges from $18,000 to more than $36,000 a year depending on a variety of factors such as location and stage of the disease. It is also estimated that Alzheimers disease costs US businesses more than $60 billion a year between the absence of Alzheimers caregivers and insurance costs alone.
